About The Opportunity

Our client is seeking an experienced Litigation Counsel to join its growing litigation practice in San Francisco, California. This opportunity is ideal for a seasoned litigator who enjoys managing sophisticated civil disputes and employment-related matters while working directly with clients from case inception through resolution. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Civil Litigation and Employment Litigation, with the ability to independently manage a diverse caseload. Experience representing healthcare providers, medical practices, dental practices, or healthcare organizations in litigation matters is highly desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Independently manage civil and employment litigation matters from inception through trial, settlement, or other resolution.
  • Represent clients at hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trial proceedings.
  • Develop litigation strategies through comprehensive legal research and case analysis.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests and responses, settlement agreements, and other litigation-related documents.
  • Conduct and defend depositions, witness interviews, and client meetings.
  • Advise clients regarding litigation risks, legal strategy, and dispute resolution options.
  • Negotiate settlements and participate in alternative dispute resolution proceedings.
  • Maintain accurate case files, litigation calendars, and deadlines while managing multiple active matters.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to deliver exceptional client service.
  • Stay current on developments in California civil procedure, employment law, and litigation trends.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in the California Bar in good standing.
  • 5+ years of experience handling Civil Litigation and Employment Litigation matters.
  • Experience representing employers in employment disputes is strongly preferred.
  • Healthcare litigation experience involving medical or dental providers is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of California civil procedure, rules of evidence, and litigation practice.
  • Demonstrated experience with motion practice, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and courtroom advocacy.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to independently manage a busy litigation caseload while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with legal research platforms and litigation case management software.
