Litigation Attorney
Purpose
The Litigation Attorney is responsible for handling creditor’s rights, real estate, and title curative litigated matters for the Firm.
Specific Duties, Activities And Responsibilities
- Attend mediations, trials, and hearings, and other duties as assigned
- Willing and able to travel on an as needed basis
- Work well with all members of the group
- Willing and able to write articles and make presentations to clients, trade associations, and ICLE
- Participate in marketing initiatives
- Able to manage and prioritize multiple projects and cases
- Assist with other duties and special projects as needed
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree with a Juris Doctorate from an ABA accredited law school
- Minimum of two – four years of litigation/courtroom experience (creditor’s rights/foreclosure experience a plus)
- Member in good standing of the state Bar of Georgia
- Proficient in performing legal research and writing
- Proficient in taking & defending depositions
- Proficient in drafting pleadings, briefs, affidavits, discovery, proposed orders, as well as correspondence, memoranda, and opinion letters
- Proficiency with Westlaw
- Well-versed in the rules of evidence, introducing evidence, and civil procedure in both state and federal court
