Purpose

Aldridge Pite, LLP is seeking a California-licensed Litigation Attorney to handle litigated matters, with an emphasis on defensive litigation involving residential real estate, title to real property, mortgages, and foreclosure. Candidates must demonstrate excellent written and oral advocacy skills and have experience with all aspects of civil litigation.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of litigation stemming from mortgage servicing and/or foreclosure matters.
  • Manage pre-litigation cases and assist with clearing title to real property.
  • Prepare case analysis and advise clients on legal strategies.
  • Draft court pleadings and motions.
  • Conduct discovery, including taking and defending depositions.
  • Attend hearings, mediations, settlement conferences, and make court appearances.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in the California State Bar, in good standing, with full compliance with licensing and continuing legal education requirements.
  • Ability to consistently bill 1,920 hours per year.
  • Knowledge of the foreclosure process and requirements (preferred but not required).
  • Experience in real estate or mortgage servicing (preferred but not required).

Qualifications

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Excel.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and a large caseload.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Well-versed in the rules of evidence and introducing evidence.
  • Knowledge of consumer protection statutes such as the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (preferred).
  • Strong work ethic and adaptability to change.

Pay

Competitive salary range of $120,000 - $160,000.
