Purpose

Aldridge Pite, LLP is seeking a California-licensed Litigation Attorney to handle litigated matters, with an emphasis on defensive litigation involving residential real estate, title to real property, mortgages, and foreclosure.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of litigation stemming from mortgage servicing and/or foreclosure matters.
  • Manage pre-litigation cases and assist with clearing title to real property.
  • Prepare analysis of cases and advise clients regarding strategies.
  • Draft court pleadings and motions.
  • Conduct discovery, including taking and defending depositions.
  • Attend hearings, mediations, settlement conferences, and make court appearances.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
  • Active member of the California State Bar, in good standing and full compliance with all licensing and continuing legal education requirements.
  • Ability to consistently bill 1920 hours per year.
  • Knowledge of the foreclosure process and requirements preferred but not required.
  • Some experience in real estate or mortgage servicing preferred but not required.

Qualifications

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Excel and other Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems quickly.
  • Well-versed in the rules of evidence and introducing evidence.
  • Knowledge of consumer protection statutes such as the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act preferred.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize a large caseload.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to adapt to change.

Pay

Competitive salary range of $120,000 - $160,000.
