Litigation Associate

Squire Patton Boggs is seeking a junior to mid-level Litigation Associate to join our Denver office.
About the role
The individual hired for this position will be responsible for handling most aspects of litigation, including drafting pleadings and motions; legal research; arguing hearings; managing discovery requests and responses; taking and defending depositions; and assisting with trial preparations and trial.

Qualifications
- 2-6 years of experience at a top-tier firm and/or judicial clerkship
- Admission to the Colorado Bar
- Possess a JD from an accredited law school and a strong academic record
- Excellent credentials
- Experience with healthcare/managed care litigation a plus, but not a requirement
- Significant and exceptional writing experience/skills
- Knowledgeable in legal research, drafting legal documents, conducting discovery, coordinating with local counsel, and generally defending against litigation
- Strong research and organizational skills; strong verbal and written communication abilities
- Courtroom and deposition experience preferred but not required
- Ability to prioritize workload, display good judgment, and work well under pressure
Requirements
- Must be a self-starter
- Must have substantial experience managing the various aspects of a commercial lawsuit from start to finish for more senior candidates
- Must have an exceptional academic record for more junior candidates
Skills
- Excellent writing experience/skills
- Legal research, drafting legal documents, conducting discovery, coordinating with local counsel, and generally defending against litigation
- Strong research and organizational skills; strong verbal and written communication abilities
- Courtroom and deposition experience preferred but not required
Benefits
The salary range for this position is $222,500-$260,000 per year and is dependent on skills and experience. We offer a professional and friendly work environment with competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits, including health, dental, life, 401(k), and many other excellent benefits.
