Litigation Administrator

About the Role
The Litigation Administrator provides professional liability litigation management and coordination to in-house counsel and outside defense counsel. This role also manages consultation requests on medical legal issues from Health System personnel and third-party information requests.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates with in-house counsel in investigation and development of claims, including locating witnesses, managing preservation requests, scheduling depositions, and locating policies and procedures.
- Works with outside counsel to investigate claims, locate witnesses, medical records, audit trails, and equipment.
- Secures necessary medical records for defense counsel, internal reviews, and regulatory or licensure-related reviews, including managing the relationship with the medical records production vendor and troubleshooting production issues.
- Fields and coordinates responses to requests from physicians and administrative personnel regarding medical records, testimony in third-party actions, and other medical-legal issues.
- Manages third-party requests for information and subpoenas related to those requests.
- Coordinates claims management activities, including reserving, acceptance of service determinations, and other related tasks.
- Provides backup coverage for other administrators on the team as needed.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- BA/BS required, with 3-5 years of paralegal experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in a law firm or hospital legal office preferred.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and exercise sound judgment.
- Discretion and sensitivity in handling confidential materials.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with keen attention to detail.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of taking initiative to solve complex problems.
- Ability to prioritize work, meet simultaneous deadlines, and work cooperatively with staff at all levels.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook) and electronic research tools (Westlaw, commercial databases, and internet resources).
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work on multiple assignments under competing time demands.

Pay
Annual salary range: $43,919.00 - $87,000.00. Offers are based on candidate qualifications, experience, skills, education, internal factors, and market considerations.
