Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Reads instructions for job ticket and sets the press up or directs set-up of press based on instructions.
- Responsible for make-ready/set-up of screen press to ensure proper machine set-up, registration, ink viscosity, color, to include mixing colors, and print quality.
- Responsible for optimum speed, registration, and print quality according to established standards.
- Run, adjust, and troubleshoot production jobs on the screen press.
- Responsible for performing preventative maintenance.
- Maintains and provides production logs and reports, as necessary.
- Accounts for labor and materials consumed through accurate data collection.
- Affords assistance in the training of production personnel.
- Affords assistance in the ink inventory.
- Affords assistance in general cleaning up and keeping the work area neat and orderly.
- Affords assistance in the disposal of garbage and recycling bins in the screen press area.
- Deals with customers and clients in a professional and polite manner as needed.
- May need to perform prepress tasks such as screen prep, block out, imaging screens as needed.
- Works overtime as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience on the same or functionally similar press required.
- Knowledge of how to mix and produce correct color in printing.
- Ability to read and understand oral/written instructions.
- Math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Problem solving skills.
- Knowledge of press operations and functions.
- Reliability through attendance, punctuality, and attention to workstation.
- A positive safety attitude.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
- Occasional climbing onto press.
- Occasional reaching, bending, and stooping.
- Frequent Standing for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to lift, push and pull: 50 pounds.
