Literacy Support Paraprofessional

About the role

The Literacy Support Paraprofessional helps students develop foundational literacy skills, including phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and reading comprehension. This position follows district-established literacy systems, instructional routines, and intervention protocols while implementing evidence-based practices grounded in the Science of Reading.

Responsibilities

• Prepare instructional materials
• Assist with literacy activities
• Monitor student progress
• Encourage student confidence and success in reading
• Work closely with students and teachers to provide consistent support and help meet the learning needs of all students
