About the Role

All employees at Prospect Ridge Academy work together to create academic, social, and ethical leaders. Every employee is expected to deliver exceptional customer service skills to students, parents, and the PRA community. This role operates in a dynamic school environment, subject to evolving educational principles, values, and culture. Adaptability to change is essential.

The Interventionist is responsible for each pupil's education in their charge, working with students, parents, teachers, and staff to achieve the goals outlined in the Prospect Ridge Academy Mission Statements.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement appropriate Tier II and Tier III mathematics and/or literacy instruction for students identified on math and literacy assessments as needing additional support.
  • Demonstrate exceptional instructional delivery, modeling and fostering independent thinking skills, creative problem solving, and abstract reasoning.
  • Show empathy and understanding of students while holding them accountable.
  • Communicate consistently and effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Develop a cooperative partnership based on mutual respect and objectivity with parents and students.
  • Communicate and collaborate with teachers on progress and application of skills acquired during intervention groups.
  • Assess student performance frequently and objectively.
  • Facilitate resolution of problems that might arise with students and parents.
  • Participate in MTSS progress monitoring meetings with instructional staff.
  • Update and review student progress paperwork in compliance with MTSS processes.
  • Input progress monitoring data in required systems.
  • Adhere to approved communication pathways.
  • Actively pursue professional development opportunities in specific content areas.
  • Stay current in best practice knowledge for mathematics and/or literacy.
  • Follow policies established by the Prospect Ridge Academy Board of Directors, Adams 12 School District, and Colorado State-mandated school guidelines, except where PRA has received waivers.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Current Colorado Teaching License preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in the instruction of students with varied learning styles and levels of mastery.
  • Commitment to PRA-approved curriculum.
  • Commitment to implementation of Character Education and Positive Behavior System.

Physical Requirements

  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, walk, grasp, and perform light lifting.

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to read, write, and interpret documents such as rules, policies, agreements, rubrics, scope and sequence documents, and assessment materials.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of staff, students, the Board of Directors, administrators, and parents.
  • Ability to understand and carry out written, oral, or diagram instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in a variety of situations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to coordinate different tasks.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills while working with a diverse population.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision and be self-motivated.
  • Ability and skill to use sound judgment as determined by the specific situation.

Reporting

This position reports to the K8 Math or Literacy Content Specialist.

Working Conditions

  • Work is occasionally performed inside and outside, with exposure to extreme temperatures and all weather conditions.
  • Exposure to moderate noise and, at times, loud noise.
  • Highly public position with frequent contact with students, staff, administrators, the Board of Directors, and parents.
  • Occasional workdays exceeding ten (10) hours, with weekend work as needed.

Pay

Hiring range: $21.40 - $24.08 per hour.
