Job Summary
The Liquid Cooling Systems Engineer serves as the internal subject matter expert (SME) for liquid cooling technologies supporting Jabil’s manufacturing and deployment of data center hardware, including rack and server platforms. This role provides technical guidance on cooling system design, process standards, and implementation strategies to support scalable, high-reliability production.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Evaluate emerging cooling technologies, components, and suppliers to enable future product development and drive continuous improvement across manufacturing operations.
- Partner with systems, electrical, and software engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of liquid cooling solutions into complex hardware systems.
- Mentor junior engineers and support cross-functional execution to deliver high-performance data center products.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years of hands-on engineering experience with liquid cooling, chilled water, or glycol-based systems in product or manufacturing environments.
- Experience supporting data center hardware, server platforms, or high-density compute systems, or similarly complex, high-reliability engineered systems (pharma, food & beverage, distillery).
- Strong knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer.
- Proficiency in process control systems, instrumentation, and sensors.
- Experience with DMAIC, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement.
- Familiarity with quality systems (ISO 9001) and regulatory compliance affecting engineering-driven process control.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable engineering improvements.
- Ability to drive cross-functional change using data.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with data center liquid cooling technologies, including immersion or direct-to-chip liquid cooling.
- Knowledge of OCP and ASHRAE standards related to data center cooling.
- Familiarity with BMS and SCADA, or similar monitoring and control platforms for cooling systems.
- Six Sigma or Lean certification with demonstrated application in manufacturing engineering environments.
- Experience with CFD or thermal simulation tools.
