About the role
Linux Systems Administrator responsible for managing and supporting multi-platform environments with a focus on security and automation.
Responsibilities
- Administer and support various operating systems, ensuring system performance and security.
- Design and implement automated security hardening and deployment solutions.
- Configure host-based security, intrusion detection, and identity management systems.
- Develop automation scripts to streamline server management and reduce manual errors.
- Monitor logs, investigate anomalies, and respond to security events.
- Conduct security audits to verify compliance and identify vulnerabilities.
- Participate in technical meetings providing insights on design, progress, and technical issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years or Associate’s with 15+ years of experience in systems administration.
- Extensive Linux administration experience, including virtualization (VMware) and SAN management.
- Proficiency with automation tools like Ansible, scripting languages such as Python, Bash, Perl.
- Experience with cross-domain solutions, identity management, and DevOps tools (Docker, Kubernetes, Puppet, SaltStack).
- Knowledge of network protocols and Windows administration (Active Directory).
- Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.
Physical & Other Requirements
- Ability to remain stationary and occasionally move within the office.
- Capable of operating office equipment and computers regularly.
