Key Responsibilities
- Perform overhead and underground electrical distribution line construction, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair in a safe and efficient manner.
- Respond to outages and emergency situations as required.
- Safely operate vehicles, equipment, and tools used to construction and maintaining overhead and underground electric distribution facilities.
- Follow all safety regulations, Cooperative policies, and industry standards while performing assigned duties.
- Aid with other operations and service center functions as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of a Power Line Technology program or equivalent lineworker training is required.
- Three to four years of linework experience or Journeyman Lineworker status is preferred.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Iowa Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- Must successfully complete a pre-employment drug test.
- Reside within, or be willing to relocate to, the designated service area and meet the residency requirements for the assigned service center.
- Work with working knowledge of electric distribution system construction, operation, maintenance, REA/RUS line construction specifications, the National Electric Safety Code, and basic electrical theory including single- and multi-phase systems, transformers, and metering.
- Show strong communication, interpersonal and customer service skills with a demonstrated commitment to safety.
