Line Lead - 1st Shift - (Claryville) Alexandria, KY

About the role

This facility produces hot dogs, cocktails, and sliced meats. We create quality products in a safe environment for our team members and offer growth opportunities and room for advancement. The position is responsible for assisting the Supervisor in coordination of the daily responsibilities of the department by ensuring the Supervisor's instructions are communicated to the team members and carried out timely and correctly. This position will also monitor all equipment to ensure it is working properly and notify the supervisor of any needed maintenance while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. Must be able to read and understand manuals, blueprints, plant paperwork, labels, etc.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Supervisor in coordinating daily department responsibilities
• Communicate Supervisor's instructions to team members and ensure they are carried out timely and correctly
• Monitor all equipment to ensure proper operation
• Notify supervisor of any needed maintenance
• Maintain a safe work environment
• Adhere to Tyson policies and procedures
• Read and understand manuals, blueprints, plant paperwork, labels, and other documentation

Requirements

• 6+ months of Lead experience required
• 6+ months of machine operator experience required
• Candidates who have previously worked for Tyson have a minimum rehire waiting period of 180 days and are limited to 3 times of employment

Physical requirements

• Must be willing and able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Stand, walk, bend, squat, stretch, climb, push, pull, and reach as required in all areas
• Stand 8–10 hours on hard floors
• Perform repetitive motions as required in many areas
• Work in a cold, damp environment
• Work on slippery walking surfaces
