What You'll Do
- Prepare food items, preparation equipment, small wares, plate ware, food ingredients, garnishes and supply items needed for effective operations
- Maintains the highest degree of sanitation, cleanliness and food safety for work area
- Maintains menus provided, making changes only with the consent of the culinary leadership
- Plan cooking schedule so that the finished product reaches the consumer at peak quality
- Work directly with residents, team members, and guests to ensure expectations are being met or exceeded
- Fulfilling catering orders for events on campus
- Perform any other duties and/or tasks that may be assigned on an as needed basis by an authorized supervisor
What You'll Need
- 2 Years of experience in food service operations
- Knowledge of proper methods and cooking temperatures for best utilization in yield of meats and other foods
- Ability to time the cooking of vegetables so that their nutritional quality, flavor, and appearance are preserved
- Able to accurately estimate quantities of food needed and yields from bulk foods
- Knowledge of and an appreciation for principles and requirements of sanitation and safety in handling food and equipment
- Experience preparing and serving meals in an appealing and appetizing manner
Schedule/Availability
- Full-Time: Weekdays + Weekends 10:30 a to 8:30 p (Gatehouse) 10:30 a to 8:30 p (Assisted Living)
- Part-Time: Weekdays + Weekends 10:30 a - 7p
- PRN: Weekdays & Weekends 7 a to 3 p 10:30 a to 8:30 p
Compensation
$17.00 to $19.00 per hour
