Job Responsibilities

  • Technical Expertise

    • Perform core lighting installation tasks, including wiring, fixture mounting, and control systems.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve on-site technical issues to keep projects on track.
    • Stay current with emerging lighting technologies, including LED and smart systems.
  • Code & Safety Compliance

  • Interpret and apply the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local regulations.
  • Conduct daily safety briefings and ensure full PPE compliance across the crew.
  • Address unsafe behaviors promptly and constructively.
  • Project Planning & Execution

    • Review project plans and ensure timely arrival of materials to job sites.
    • Delegate tasks based on crew strengths and maintain schedule adherence without compromising quality.
    • Manage tools and equipment to ensure operational readiness and cost control.
  • Leadership & Communication

    • Serve as the primary communication link between the crew and project management.
    • Clearly communicate goals, updates, and expectations to all stakeholders.
    • Foster teamwork, resolve conflicts professionally, and maintain high morale.
  • Crew Development & Culture

    • Lead by example in punctuality, professionalism, and work ethic.
    • Mentor new team members and provide regular feedback to support development.
    • Promote a respectful, accountable, and collaborative team environment.

    Job Skills

    • Electrical & Lighting Systems Proficiency

    • Strong understanding of wiring, fixture mounting, lighting controls, and energy-efficient technologies.
    • NEC & Code Knowledge

    • Familiarity with National Electrical Code and local electrical regulations; ability to interpret and apply standards on-site.
    • Troubleshooting & Problem Solving

    • Ability to quickly diagnose and resolve issues in the field with minimal disruption to project timelines.
    • Project Coordination

    • Skilled in reviewing project plans, coordinating materials, and maintaining workflow efficiency.
    • Safety Leadership

    • Strong understanding of job site safety protocols, PPE standards, and ability to lead daily safety briefings.
    • Team Leadership & Supervision

    • Experience delegating tasks, mentoring team members, and managing crew performance and morale.
    • Communication

    • Clear and professional communication skills; able to liaise between crew and management effectively.
    • Time Management

    • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage schedules, and ensure timely project completion.
    • Tool & Equipment Management

    • Responsible stewardship of tools and job site materials to prevent loss or damage.
    • Adaptability & Learning Agility

    • Open to learning and implementing new technologies and energy management systems.
    • Software

    • Knowledge of Google Suite.
