Position Core Profile

The Installation Crew Leader is responsible for leading landscape installation projects from start to finish, ensuring work is completed on time, on budget, and to the company's quality and safety standards. This role combines hands-on field work with team supervision and requires strong horticultural knowledge, construction capabilities, and leadership skills. The Installation Leader plays a key role in translating landscape designs into functional, high-quality environments.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees both softscape and hardscape elements, ensuring technical accuracy and craftsmanship.
  • Directly supervises crew members, sets daily expectations, and provides on-the-job coaching.
  • Plans workdays based on design plans, timelines, and material availability.
  • Serves as the on-site contact for customers, updating them on progress and addressing questions or concerns.
  • Anticipates and resolves site-level issues to maintain project momentum and standards.

Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience: 2-3 years of experience in the landscaping industry.
  • Licensing/Certification: Valid state driver's license required; DOT medical card or equipment certifications a plus.

Working Conditions and Availability

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, and reaching, as well as regular use of hands and arms to perform manual labor and operate landscaping equipment.
  • Regular use of various landscaping tools and equipment such as trimmers, blowers, mowers, and shovels.
  • May occasionally involve climbing or working at heights, including ladders, slopes, or uneven terrain.
  • Exposure to a variety of weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, wind, and sun.
  • Potential exposure to noise, dust, pollen, and various plant and chemical materials commonly used in landscaping.
  • May require working on uneven terrain, near traffic, or within active construction zones.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses, ear protection, and boots is required to ensure safety on the job.
