Light Duty Mechanic/Fleet Driver

About the role

This position serves as a road mechanic for Utilitra, servicing fleets in Central Illinois and Missouri. It involves fulfilling pick-up and delivery duties, assisting with maintenance tasks, and maintaining a clean workspace.

Responsibilities

• Fulfill pick-up and delivery of fleet vehicles in a timely manner
• Deliver fleet-related items such as license stickers
• Assist with entry-level mechanic work, including installing decals, applying license plates
• Avoid maintenance responsibilities as directed by the Fleet Maintenance Coordinator
• Clean warehouse, vehicles, and equipment
• Comply with federal and state vehicle requirements
• Comply with company and federal safety rules, policies, and procedures
• Maintain and establish cooperative working relationships
• Serve as an example for other employees; foster a culture of respect, integrity, and kindness
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• 1+ years' work experience required, preferably in a warehouse environment
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record required
• CDL preferred but not required
• Ability to work with minimal to no supervision and perform independent tasks based upon general direction
• Mechanical aptitude required
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Qualifications

• Frequent lifting up to 25 pounds
• Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds
• Extended periods of driving may be required at times
• Comfortable working outdoors in extreme temperatures and conditions
• Able to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls
• Able to bend, twist, turn, lift, stretch, push, pull, and crouch as needed to perform the various essential functions and job duties of this role
• Able to stand for moderate to long periods of time

$20.00 - $26.00 per hour
