What You Will Do

• Affords assistance with and execution of diagnostic, replacement, and repair activities on engines, transmissions, and transaxles, manual drive trains and axles, suspension, steering, brakes, clutches, AC units, and electric motors.
• Performs mechanical and lubrication preventative maintenance including: oil and lube service, coolant system flush, transmissions services, filter and gasket checks, checking of water pumps, thermostats, belts, radiator hoses, and clutch fans.
• Might be required to execute welding tasks such as: Carbon Arc and MIG.
• Might operate equipment such as: forklifts, cranes, and small mobile equipment.
• Maintains Work Orders, ensures a clean and safe work area, and conducts work area inspections.
• Performs other duties as required.

What You Bring To Freeport

• One (1) year experience in Light Duty Equipment mechanical/maintenance or a combination of education and experience in industrial mechanical repair and maintenance.
• Knowledge of basic electrical.
• Ability to read and use schematics.
• Must have completed academic and practical competencies required (this includes Line of Progression requirements for internal employees where LOP Exists) and have experience demonstrating the required aptitude.
• The selected candidate shall demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge and skills while also passing a written assessment where required. This exam is based on skills/abilities and/or academic knowledge; as well as safety.

Preferred Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• ASE certifications.
• Knowledge and ability to use various computer aided diagnostic tools.

What We Offer You

The estimated pay range for this role is currently $23.00 - $31.00/hour. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
