Job Summary
Key Responsibilities
- Perform assembly, fabrication, drilling, deburring, riveting, bonding, or finishing operations on aerospace parts and components according to engineering drawings and work instructions.
- Operate light machinery and hand tools safely and efficiently, including drills, rivet guns, sanders, and measuring instruments.
- Read and interpret blueprints, routers, and technical specifications to ensure parts meet required tolerances.
- Inspect parts for conformance using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools.
- Maintain accurate production records, traveler documentation, and quality records in compliance with AS9100 standards.
- Identify and report nonconforming materials or process deviations to supervisors or quality personnel.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation in accordance with 5S and FSE standards.
- Follow all safety protocols, including use of PPE, handling of materials, and proper equipment operation.
- Collaborate with team members and other departments to meet production schedules and quality targets.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives (lean manufacturing, Kanban, waste reduction).
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior experience in aerospace, manufacturing, or production environment preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions.
- Basic math skills, including use of fractions and decimals for measurements.
- Ability to use precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 35 lbs, and familiarity with light machinery.
- Wireless basic computer skills.
Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, reach, and use hands/fingers for precise tasks.
- Must be able to lift and carry materials up to 35 lbs.
- May require repetitive motion tasks for repetitive periods of time.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
