About the role

The Employment Services Program (ESP) of the Transitional Assistance Department is recruiting for Supervising Employment Services Specialists I. This position serves as a first-line supervisor for a unit of Employment Services Specialists and other staff engaged in delivering employment development and training-related customer services for the CalWORKS program.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of Employment Services Specialists and other staff.
  • Oversee the delivery of employment development and training-related customer services for the CalWORKS program.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and agency policies.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve service delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Train and mentor staff members to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to supervisees.
  • Collaborate with other departments to address complex cases and ensure seamless service delivery.

Requirements

  • Education: Thirty semester (45 quarter) units of completed college coursework in public/business administration, behavioral/social science or education.
  • Experience: Two years of professional or administrative experience, within the past four years, in a California Department of Social Services performing duties equivalent to those of an Employment Services Specialist in San Bernardino County OR three years of experience, within the past four years, in a California Department of Social Services performing duties equivalent to those of an Eligibility Worker Supervisor I in San Bernardino County.
