Lift Station Operator

City of Edinburg in Edinburg, TX is seeking a dedicated Lift Station Operator to work in construction and maintenance of grounds, pumps, motors, instruments, and lift station equipment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine maintenance of lift station mechanical equipment, including re-packing pumps, replacing worn or damaged motor belts, and unstopping clogged pumps.
• Take readings from meter gauges and ensure lift stations are kept clean and orderly.
• Perform repairs or replace lift station pumps, motors, and valves.
• Operate and inspect lift station wet wells and dry wells daily for proper operation.
• Inspect, maintain, and repair the city's sanitary sewer lift station equipment.
• Provide assistance and support to other divisions within the department as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred: Community college, vocational, technical, or correspondence school certificates.
• No experience required; one (1) year of experience in a related field preferred.
• Preferred: TCEQ Class "B" Wastewater Operator's License or higher.
• Must achieve TCEQ Class "D" Wastewater Operator's License or Wastewater Collection Class I within the first year of employment.
• Must achieve TCEQ Class "C" Wastewater Operator's License or Wastewater Collection Class II within three years of employment.
• Must achieve TCEQ Class "B" Wastewater Operator's License or Wastewater Collection Class III within five years of employment.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug test administered by the City of Edinburg.
• Must have a current valid Class "C" driver's license from the Texas Department of Public Safety with a satisfactory driving record.

Pay

$15.05 per hour.
