Lift Operator - Mountain Operations.

About the role

Lift Operators at the Dartmouth Skiway play an integral role in the safety and service of our guests. Lift Operations Team Members are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of lifts and carpets while providing excellent guest service. Lift Operations Team Members contribute to the success of the Mountain Operations by performing a wide variety of tasks. The position is located in Lyme Center, NH and is a 4‑month term position. Dartmouth College maintains a Tobacco‑Free Policy; smoking and use of tobacco‑based products are prohibited on all college property. The position is classified as non‑exempt under FLSA.

Responsibilities

• Operates lifts in a safe, efficient, and friendly manner.
• Provides excellent guest service at lift and beginner areas.
• Provides daily maintenance/safety checks in compliance with NHPTSB.
• Assists mountain operations with snow and ice mitigation including shoveling, sanding, and salting on premises.
• Assists in maintenance duties related to snowmaking and mountain operations systems including but not limited to parking lots, timbering operations, and building maintenance.
• Follows all policies and procedures of the Dartmouth Skiway.
• Demonstrates professionalism and collegiality through actions, interactions, and communications with others appropriate to an environment that is welcoming to all.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Basic knowledge/understanding of large machinery.
• Good communications skills and patience.
• Physically capable to perform tasks and duties of position.
• Ability to work outside for extended periods of time in all weather conditions.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Employment is contingent upon consent to and successful completion of a pre‑employment background check (criminal, reference, work history, conduct review, verification of credentials).

Qualifications

• Previous experience working in the outdoors.
• Passion for snowsports.
• High school graduate or equivalent.

• Basic knowledge/understanding of large machinery.

• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.

Pay

$17.50 per hour.

Schedule

Temporary full‑time.
