About the role

Assists guests in getting on and off of chair lifts by operating ski lifts, including inspection and testing before opening. Must be energetic, outgoing, and able to interact with guests in a friendly and fun manner. A crucial part of the role is to get and keep guests as part of a customer-focused organization.

Responsibilities

  • Operate the assigned lift under the supervision of the Lift Operations Supervisor or assistants, following standard procedures and instructions to provide safe uphill transportation for guests and employees.
  • Assist with shoveling and raking snow and ice to maintain proper ramps, corrals, and work areas.
  • Inspect the lift prior to startup, including emptying trash containers, checking marker information boards, tissue dispensers, switches, chairs, grips, and maintaining ramps and corrals.
  • Become familiar with the resort area (lifts and trails) and the functions of other departments.
  • Advise and assist guests courteously as needed.
  • Learn and adhere to resort policies, safety policies, and guest service expectations.
  • Communicate problems to superiors while handling routine matters and emergencies independently.
  • Remain vigilant to the needs of equipment and guests, reacting safely while maintaining quality service.
  • Contribute to team efforts, including job sharing, maintaining resort cleanliness, ensuring safety, attending safety meetings, accepting diverse assignments, and maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Meet service level objectives and department goals set by the immediate supervisor.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
