Job Purpose

The lift operator lead assists the lift operations supervisor. They oversee daily operations, supervise lift operators, and ensure smooth transitions between opening and closing.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with various departments to manage lift operations effectively.
• Maintain safety and quality standards by monitoring weather and lift conditions.
• Ensure proper ramp and mazing setups for safe passenger transport.
• Prepare and submit daily reports and handle maintenance issues promptly.
• Engage guests warmly and proactively update them about resort operations.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and assist in project implementations.
• Provide real-time guidance and coaching to lift operators during operations.
• Implement and maintain emergency procedures, including contacting ski patrol.
• Ensure load/unload ramps and Lift Shack areas are maintained in a safe condition.
• Assist in managing weekend shifts and holiday periods as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Avid mountain biker with experience in rugged, technical terrain.
• Experience in the mountain bike or ski area industry.
• Basic carpentry and structural integrity skills.
• Understanding of tools, machines, and ability to diagnose and repair equipment.
• College degree in outdoor recreation, ski area management, or related field.
• Valid driver’s license.

Pay

$20 - $25 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

Schedule

Seasonal position from October 14, 2026, to April 14, 2027, with flexible weekend and holiday availability.
