Life Support Maintenance Manager III / U/W Combat Dive Technologies System Manager III

Location: JEB Little Creek – Fort Story, Virginia Beach, VA. SECRET clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Ensures seamless operation, conducts scheduled and unscheduled preventative and corrective maintenance, training, and advancement of combat diving systems and ROVs used by NSW entities.
• Develops and writes comprehensive curricula for end-user training on combat diving propulsion, navigation, communication systems, SHIELD SCBA, and ROVs.
• Delivers training and certification programs to NSW personnel, ensuring operational proficiency; maintains training records and provides feedback for continuous improvement.
• Performs routine and advanced maintenance on combat diving systems, ROVs, and ancillary equipment; ensures proper maintenance and issuance to NSW and associated entities.
• Reports all system deficiencies and alterations to department leadership and WARCOM program office promptly.
• Manages government-approved programs for NSWG-2 LOGSUPPU and WARCOM related to combat diving systems; ensures compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
• Provides technical advice and support to engineers and WARCOM leadership regarding system functionality, maintenance procedures, testing, and evaluation of combat dive systems, ROVs, and ancillary equipment.
• Assists in the development of future technologies and provides input on system upgrades and modifications.
• Maintains an accurate inventory of all combat diving systems, ROVs, and ancillary equipment; verifies accountability of issued equipment and ensures proper documentation.
• Travels OCONUS and CONUS to train NSW personnel, attend operations, conferences, and meetings involving dive technologies and ROVs; gathers critical information on emerging technologies.
• Familiarity with transport and storage of Lithium batteries and proper procedures for upkeep of all batteries associated with maintained systems.
• Adheres to Navy Ordnance Safety and Security Activity (NOSSA) transport, stowage, and operation guidelines.
• Obtains factory-trained certifications for all underwater navigation, communication, and propulsion systems.

Requirements

• Possess a valid state driver’s license; civilian passport required for OCONUS travel (costs not covered by NSW).
• Ability to operate a Personal Computer (PC) with standard business software, including Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
• Clear and effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Navy Dive School certified (NEC 5342 / M1DV, USCG OPSDC, or higher).
• Minimum five years’ experience as a certified 5342 / M1DV, USCG OPSDC diver or higher.
• Qualification as a Maintenance & Material Management (3M) Maintenance Person, 3M Quality Assurance Craftsman, and 3M Work Center Supervisor.
• Qualified in accordance with NAVEDTRA 43910-(Series).
• Minimum of three years NSW experience.
• Maintain forklift license up to 6,000lb capacity.
• Must meet requirements to obtain and check out government vehicles/CESE for official duties.
