Life Safety System Manager
Purpose & Scope
Plan and perform installation, inspection and repair duties necessary in wiring circuits and other parts of electrical systems. Diagnose and repair all electrical systems and various types of equipment including the operation of power distribution systems and its components. Manage and schedule required inspections of life safety systems to include Fire Alarm Systems, Emergency power systems and associated Automatic Transfer Switches. Ensure these inspections are completed in accordance with NFPA and Life Safety Code requirements and time intervals.
Responsibilities
- Manage and schedule required inspections of life safety systems to include Fire Alarm Systems, Emergency power systems and associated Automatic Transfer Switches.
- Ensure these inspections are completed in accordance with NFPA and Life Safety Code requirements and time intervals.
- Immediately schedule and supervise corrections and repair of all deficiencies found during testing.
- Presents all documents to DFE Director and assists director during local, state and, federal inspections.
- Works independently with minimal oversight from DFE Director.
Requirements
- NICET (National Institute For Certification In Engineering Technologies) REQUIRED.
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Six years of electrical engineering is preferred.
- Certified as a Master Electrician in the state of Virginia.
- NICET-1 certification is required.
Qualifications

- Experience managing and scheduling inspections of life safety systems.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
