About the role
The Licensing Specialist is responsible for completing all state licensure applications for TeleSpecialists physicians and submitting them to state medical boards. This role ensures all provider information is complete and accurate, and all expirable documents are maintained and current within Salesforce. This is a Monday through Friday position.
Responsibilities
- Complete the license application and enrollment of employed telemedicine physician licenses across all states.
- Assist with the onboarding process (internally/externally), including obtaining state licenses within established timelines.
- Ensure physician expirables are renewed timely in support of state guidelines for compliance.
- Ensure departmental guidelines support all contracted hospital privileges and procedures.
- Identify and analyze physician information received to ensure accuracy.
- Assist in the credentialing process by entering, logging, and scanning information into the credentialing system for initial, updated, and maintenance processes.
- Track the licensure application process to promote compliance, process enhancement, and efficiency.
- Maintain copies of current state licenses, DEA certificates, malpractice coverage, and other required licensing documents for all providers.
- Notify leadership of any potential derogatory issues identified during the licensing process and collaborate with practitioners to document/resolve the issue.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 2-3 years' experience working with state medical licensing boards and provider licensing is required.
- Experience or familiarity with provider credentialing, including TJC and NCQA accreditation standards.
- Intermediate-level skills with Microsoft Office products.
- Strong computer skills; ability to learn and use new technologies.
- Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.

- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

Preferred Qualifications
- Credentialing certifications such as CPCS or CPCM.

Physical Requirements
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position (sitting or standing) for prolonged periods, often up to 75% of the workday.
- Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or shared workspaces.
- Constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery (e.g., calculator, copy machine, printer).
- Must be able to exchange accurate information with clients and coworkers in person, over the phone, and via digital platforms.
- Occasionally move or transport office supplies, files, or equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Occasionally position self to maintain files in cabinets or access equipment stored in low or high areas.
- Requires close visual acuity to prepare and analyze data, transcribe, and view a computer monitor for extended periods.
