Licensing Specialist
Duties and Responsibilities
Ensures that state licenses are obtained and maintained for all positions that require a license.
Completes applications/renewal forms and instructions for completion and ensures accuracy prior to submitting for processing.
Submits renewal forms and miscellaneous correspondence.
Receives, researches, and responds to incoming questions/complaints; provides information, explains policies and procedures.
Maintains and or creates files/record keeping systems for individual licensing.
Performs other clerical duties such as filing, faxing, copying, etc.
Tracks application and renewal status and follows up on issues, conflicts and problems.
Uses internal programs, and internet sites for recording and verifying license status.
Responds to licensing inquiries from company and industry contacts.
Performs legal research and communicate requirements/restrictions to the appropriate teams.
Maintains licensing files and the integrity of the licensing database.
Assists with special projects as initiated and supervised by manager.
Performs all other duties and projects as assigned and approved by the Licensing Manager and leadership.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of relevant federal and state licensing laws and regulations.
- Knowledge of and a proficiency in using computer and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook), and Internet.
- Knowledge of organization’s products, policies and procedures, and the respective functions of the departments.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Must be very organized and detail oriented.
- Requires continuous use of discretion, creativity, independent judgment and/or independent action.
- Self-motivated with a professional attitude.
