About the role

We are looking for a motivated, dedicated and compassionate individual to be a Licensing Coordinator for our Communities Connected for Kids program. This position ensures the safety of children and helps build strong families in the community.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates all educational resource training requirements for Level 1 foster parents.
  • Completes all Level 1 licensing and re-licensing duties as required by FL statute, administrative code, and DCF operating procedures, including home visits, quality home studies, and thorough assessments.
  • Tracks all required documents and timeframes for licensure and re-licensure, including background screenings and ongoing in-service training requirements.
  • Connects kinship caregivers to community resources.
  • Identifies family needs and provides ongoing support to Level I foster parents and kinship caregivers.
  • Safeguards accurate and timely submission of foster care initial licenses and re-licenses as required by FL statute, administrative code, DCF operating procedures, and the DCF region.
  • Collaborates with other professionals and paraprofessionals to coordinate services.
  • Affords support, as needed, to families that have closed out permanent guardianship.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work or related human services field.
  • Preferred: Licensing certification with the Florida Certification Board.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience working with children, adolescents, and families.
  • Ability to navigate the Florida Safe Families Network (FSFN) preferred.
  • Flexible to work flexible hours that may include evenings and occasional Saturdays.

Qualifications

  • Passes a background check.
  • Complies with all state and federal regulations regarding foster care and child welfare.

Skills

  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

About Communities Connected for Kids

Based out of Port Saint Lucie, FL, this position is responsible for the initial licensure and re-licensure of Level I foster homes and assists kinship caregivers to apply for appropriate benefits and provide ongoing support. Communities Connected for Kids provides oversight and coordination of the child-welfare system in Indian River, Martin, Okeechobee, and St. Lucie counties. We meet this responsibility through a mix of direct and contracted services, ensuring a community without abuse, neglect, and abandonment.
