Licensing Aide II

About the role

This position will support the Center for Vital Records. The role is responsible for the management of the Rhode Island statewide vital events registration for the RI Department of Health, Center for Vital Records in accordance with RI General Law.

Responsibilities

• Accurately enter data of statistical information into the States database.
• Maintain the database and make corrections for reporting accuracy.
• Provide guidance and support to 39 cities and towns and the public.
• Support customers making in-person requests.
• Issue Vital Records in response to in-person and mail/online requests.
• Perform a variety of generic clerical tasks including typing, filing, recordkeeping, phone coverage, etc.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.
• Strong articulation over the phone and email.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information.
• Ability to interact professionally and courteously with the public and licensees.

Education and Experience

• Graduation from a senior high school.
• Experience gained through employment in a clerical or related position involving the exercise of independent judgment in the processing of various transactions.
• Any combination of education and experience that is substantially equivalent to the above.
