Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) – Correctional Health – 701

About the role

The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) provides patient care and education for patients in ambulatory clinics/areas under the direct supervision of an RN, APRN, PA, physician, dentist, or podiatrist. Using the nursing process, the LVN ensures patients’ physical, social, psychological, and spiritual needs are met.

Responsibilities

• Determines predictable healthcare needs of clients within structured healthcare settings
• Provides goal-directed care for common, well-defined health problems with predictable outcomes
• Collaborates with healthcare team members to optimize patient understanding and adherence to treatment plans within the LVN scope of practice

Requirements

• Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing
• Licensure/Certification: Current licensure as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in the State of Texas, Basic Life Support (BLS) from a hospital-based American Heart Association (AHA) approved program, Additional certificates as required by unit/service
• Work Experience: Experience in area of specialty preferred
• Communication Skills: Above average verbal communication (heavy public contact)
• Proficiencies: PC proficiency

$28.85 – $36.80 / hour
