About the Role

A Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) provides nursing care and performs nursing procedures under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. Responsibilities include interacting with hospital staff and ancillary departments regarding patient care, concerns, and conflicts, as well as identifying and assisting in their resolution. The role requires accountability for maintaining performance skills and adherence to Service Excellence standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care and perform nursing procedures.
  • Function under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
  • Interact with hospital staff and ancillary departments regarding patient care, concerns, and conflicts.
  • Assist in resolving patient care issues.
  • Maintain performance skills and adhere to Service Excellence standards.
  • Work weekends, holidays, evenings, nights, overtime, and/or on-call/call-back status as necessary.

Requirements

  • Current LVN license in the State of Texas.
  • Familiarity with basic nursing performance standards for all age groups as outlined in the Texas Nurse Practice Act.
  • Commitment and adherence to the organization’s Compliance Program and Code of Conduct, including compliance with all policies and procedures, attendance at required training, and immediate reporting of suspected compliance issues.

Qualifications

  • Currently licensed as an LVN in the State of Texas or part of a compact state license, or holds a valid temporary LVN license for Texas while awaiting permanent licensure.
  • Current BLS certification, aligned with unit-specific needs and in accordance with the AHA for Healthcare Provider’s Program or American Red Cross (BCLS/CPR). Certification must be current upon hire and maintained thereafter.
  • Preferred: One year of full-time or three years of part-time previous clinical experience.
