Licensed Vocational Nurse II - Mental Health Acute (Unit C)

About The Position

The County of Riverside - Riverside University Health System (RUHS) - Medical Center is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse II to join its team at Arlington Campus located in Riverside.

Responsibilities

• Observe behavioral changes, assist with crisis intervention, demonstrate responsibility for proper administration, monitoring, and management of medications, display knowledge of adverse side effects, indications of use, and contraindications of medications;
• Perform nursing duties within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act for vocational nursing in the care of patients in a hospital inpatient setting or outpatient clinic of a hospital, Public Health or Mental Health clinic;
• Perform other work as required.

• Demonstrates a high level of patience, tolerance, and understanding when supporting individuals with complex needs and behavioral challenges.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of successful LVN experience, preferably in behavioral health, mental health, and/or substance abuse programs;
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Electronic Health Records);
• Valid California Vocational Nurse's License issued by the California Board of Vocational Nurse and Psychiatric Technician Examiners;
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association;
• CPI.
