Registered Mental Health Nurse - Acute Psychiatric Unit
About the role
The Acute Psychiatric Unit (APU) is a 5-bedded, acute admissions ward located within Western Isles Hospital. We provide inpatient care for the population of the Western Isles and operate 24/7.
Responsibilities
- Assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care and treatment
- Liaise with carers, other professionals, and third-sector services
- Take on the role of named nurse for individual patients and lead shifts
Requirements
- Recent experience in Mental Health Services
- Good team working abilities and excellent communication skills
Qualifications
An Advanced Nurse Practitioner qualification is desirable but not essential.
Skills
- Excellent clinical practice in line with Local and National Guidelines
- Proactive in promoting ongoing CPD
- Capable of providing regular clinical supervision and annual appraisals
Benefits
- £34,544 to £43,039 pro rata/per annum
- £1,461 Distant Islands Allowance pro rata/per annum
- 28.8 Hours per Week
- Permanent Post
