Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) - Emergency Overnight

About the role

Bellevue Emergency and Specialty is hiring an LVT for Overnight shifts in the Emergency Department!

Responsibilities

  • Provide quality patient care under the supervision of licensed veterinarians.
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as directed by the veterinarian.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
  • Assist in surgeries and other specialized procedures.
  • Document patient care activities accurately and timely.
  • Communicate effectively with clients regarding their pets' conditions and treatment plans.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance clinical skills.

Requirements

  • WA state Veterinary Technician License with credential in good standing.
  • Successful completion of the Veterinary Technician National Examination.
  • Experience in emergency veterinary care preferred.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a recognized veterinary technician program.
  • Current CPR certification.

Skills

  • Proficient in computer systems and software used in veterinary practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Pay

  • Licensed Veterinary Technicians start at $30/hour up to $42/hour based on experience.
  • Earn extra differential pay of $1.50 per hour for working overnight shifts between 7pm to 7am.
  • An additional $1.50 per hour for working on Saturdays or Sundays.

Schedule

  • Full-time and part-time positions available.
  • 12 hour night shift: 7pm to 7am Thurs-Sat.
  • 12 hour day shift: 7am to 7pm Sundays and Mondays.
