About the role

Anchor Academy is seeking a Licensed Vocational Instructor to teach transitional skills to middle and high school aged students with disabilities. The ideal candidate will have experience utilizing and applying the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks, building, maintaining, and collaborating with community partnerships, and providing support and guidance to students developing and strengthening their pre-vocational and vocational/job skills.

Responsibilities

  • Teach transitional skills to middle and high school aged students with disabilities using the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks.
  • Build, maintain, and collaborate with community partnerships to develop transition plans for students.
  • Provide support and guidance to students in developing and strengthening their pre-vocational and vocational/job skills.
  • Facilitate in-person and remote vocational classes.
  • Work with students in a clinically appropriate manner while maintaining a challenging learning environment.
  • Experience working with students in a therapeutic school setting is preferred.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required.
  • Massachusetts certification in moderate disabilities/working towards certification by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and leadership abilities.
  • Knowledge of the needs of the population served; understanding of the range of interventions and treatment required by this population.

Qualifications

  • Background Check: Acceptable CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information) and OIG background check.
  • Driving record check will be performed.

Skills

  • Ability to work with students in a therapeutic school setting.
  • Experience utilizing and applying the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks.
  • Experience building, maintaining, and collaborating with community partnerships.
  • Experience providing support and guidance to students developing and strengthening their pre-vocational and vocational/job skills.

Pay

The pay for this position is $20.00 to $30.00 per hour. This reflects what we reasonably and in good faith expect to pay for this role at the time of posting the position. The actual compensation an employee is offered may vary based on several factors such as experience, education, licensure, certifications and qualifications.

Schedule

Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM
