Position: Licensed Therapist
Program: School Based Integrated Services
Start Date: July 27, 2026
Openings: Full-Time - Smithville School District
Full-Time - NKC School District
Part-Time - NKC School District
Full-Time - Jackson County School District
Full-Time - Liberty School District

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct clinical counseling services in school-based setting.
  • Includes assessment (initial assessment, testing or other assessment) and treatment (individual therapy, family therapy, group therapy, art therapy, play therapy, support groups and psychoeducational groups).
  • Provides professional development regarding trauma to school staff.
  • Aids in trauma-informed care implementation in the school setting.
  • Responds to initial phone calls and documents information as needed.
  • Maintains agency files according to Synergy’s documentation standards.
  • Provides crisis management as needed.
  • Provides treatment planning, case management and follow-up of cases.
  • Supports calls and networks with other agencies.
  • Writes reports as requested.
  • Makes outside referrals for additional services as appropriate.
  • Maintains client files according to agency documentation standards.
  • Participates in monthly peer supervision.
  • Participates in weekly supervision with the Clinical Manager to discuss cases and create a plan for ways to mitigate vicarious trauma.
  • Participates in professional development and training in order to maintain requirements for licensure.
  • Potentially provides supervision to practicum or intern students.
  • Assists other employees by sharing experience, expertise and training.

Qualifications

  • Requires Master's degree in counseling or social work.
  • Must at minimum have provisional licensure for licensed professional counselor or licensed master social worker in the state of Missouri, fully licensed preferred.

Education and Experience

  • Master's degree in counseling or social work.
  • Provisional licensure for licensed professional counselor or licensed master social worker in the state of Missouri, fully licensed preferred.

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly exposed to fumes, airborne particles, or communicable diseases.
  • Exposure to the risk of violence and secondary trauma.

Work Environment

  • Exposure to the risk of violence and secondary trauma.
