School-Based Licensed Counselor / Therapist

About the role

The licensed behavioral health clinician provides school-based therapy, including psychosocial evaluations, individual, family, and group therapy, and care coordination. They conduct outreach to identify students needing mental health support, collaborate with other providers, and refer clients for medication management when necessary. The clinician performs crisis interventions, assesses safety concerns, develops and adjusts treatment plans, and supports clients and their families. They stay informed about field developments and utilize community resources to enhance care.

Responsibilities

• Provide psychosocial evaluations, individual, family, and group therapy
• Conduct outreach to identify students needing mental health support
• Collaborate with other providers and refer clients for medication management when necessary
• Perform crisis interventions and assess safety concerns
• Develop and adjust treatment plans
• Support clients and their families
• Stay informed about field developments and utilize community resources
• Complete timely documentation such as intake forms, progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries, adhering to regulations and policies
• Prepare reports for external agencies
• Participate in agency committees

Requirements

• Current CT LCSW, LPC, or LMFT license issued by DPH
• Strong clinical skills
• Ability to perform crisis interventions
• Excellent documentation practices
