Licensed Therapist (LPHA) - Dual Diagnosis Residential Program (DDRP)

About the role

The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD is seeking a Licensed Therapist (LPHA) for their Dual Diagnosis Residential Program (DDRP). This program serves individuals under the Harris County Community Supervision Corrections Department and offers a multidisciplinary approach to substance abuse treatment, behavioral health stabilization, and skills training.

Responsibilities

• Maintains consumer progress towards treatment goals.
• Conducts clinical assessments to evaluate diagnostic eligibility and treatment needs.
• Provides cognitive behavioral therapy to address mental illness symptoms and improve daily functioning.
• Provides crisis intervention to stabilize individuals and prevent hospitalization.
• Trains consumers on mental illness and related issues.
• Affords consumers access to necessary care and services.
• Participates in treatment planning and service authorization.
• Advocates for consumers to meet their needs.
• Communicates effectively with consumers, visitors, and other staff.
• Completes required reporting and training.
• Adapts to changing work requirements.
• Complies with agency policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in a social, behavioral, or human service field from a four-year accredited college or university.
• Licensure through the State of Texas for LCSW, LPC, or LMFT.
• One to two years of clinical experience post-Master’s degree preferred.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License and insurability under Agency policy.
