About the role

The Licensed Practice Manager (LPM) oversees all aspects of the location’s business operations. As a “people first” organization, the LPM champions team development through coaching, mentoring, and performance management. The role focuses on creating memorable patient experiences while driving top-line sales, increasing margins, controlling payroll expenses, and boosting profitability to meet company objectives. The LPM collaborates with staff and optometrist (OD) partners to deliver professional eye exams, medical services, quality product selection, vision insurance acceptance, and remarkable patient service, all aligned with the “Acuity Way.”

Responsibilities

  • Apply leadership, creative thinking, and analytical skills to improve practice performance and solve operational issues.
  • Build an effective, collaborative team to achieve results.
  • Address the practice’s unique strengths and challenges with tailored objectives, strategies, and plans.
  • Establish clear objectives for store staff, communicate expectations, and set high performance standards.
  • Set the standard for remarkable patient service and experience using the Acuity Way.
  • Identify and select top talent aligned with AEG’s values to ensure long-term sustainability.
  • Custom fit glasses and precisely place prescriptions in lenses.
  • Collect eye and face measurements to ensure proper fit.
  • Interpret prescriptions written by optometrists and ophthalmologists.
  • Work closely with the District Manager to achieve and exceed financial plans for the practice.
  • Adapt quickly to new challenges and develop creative solutions.
  • Drive results and share best practices within the AEG platform.
  • Retain an open mind and adapt to change.
  • Orchestrate multiple activities efficiently to accomplish goals through superior service.
  • Review daily sales, identify gaps, and implement solutions to close them.
  • Reinforce the practice’s selling strategy and the Acuity Way.
  • Protect the company through loss prevention.
  • Partner with Human Resources to ensure employees adhere to handbook guidelines.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of professional experience with leadership capacity.
  • State licensure in opticianry or related field.
  • Optical dispensing experience.
  • Business degree in Hospitality, Business, or related management field (or equivalent experience).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Optician certification.
