Licensed Practical Nurse - UI Health Care Clinics 50-100% (Multiple Openings)

About the role

The University of Iowa Community Clinics is seeking Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Medical Assistants (MAs) to work at various clinics. The positions can be 50-100% (20-40 hours per week) and may float to different clinics depending on patient needs.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care under the supervision of a registered professional nurse.
• Participates in the development of nursing care plans and in the implementation of therapeutic programs for patients.
• Supports patient care coordination and provides technical, patient care, and related clerical functions in the clinic setting.

Requirements

• Licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with the Iowa Board of Nursing, or eligible for temporary work permit.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support provider.
• Driver’s License and ability to meet UI Fleet Safety Standards.
• Excellent written/verbal communication skills.
• Previous EPIC experience is highly desirable.
• Previous Family Medicine experience is highly desirable.
• Strong phlebotomy skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months ambulatory experience.
• Previous immunization experience.
• Previous phlebotomy experience.

Skills

• Teamwork and autonomy.

• EPIC experience.

Pay

• Hourly pay range: $21.34 - $31.79 for LPNs, $19.59 - $29.10 for MAs.
• Salary range: $40,903.92 - $60,760.80 for MAs at 100% time.

Schedule

• Coralville Family Medicine Clinic: 90% (36 hours per week), variable hours Monday - Friday between 7:30 am - 5:00 pm.
• 1st Avenue Family Medicine Clinic: 100% (40 hours per week), variable hours Monday - Friday between 7:30 am - 5:30 pm.
• Scott Blvd Clinic: 50-100% (20-40 hours per week), variable hours Monday - Thursday between 8:00 am - 8:30 pm and Fridays from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.
