Medical Assistant II - UI Health Care Clinics 90-100% (Multiple Openings)

About the role

The University of Iowa Community Clinics is seeking a patient-centered Medical Assistant II (MA II) to work at our UICC Clinics. These positions will primarily support our Family Medicine Clinics or Internal Medicine Clinics, but may float to other patient specialties/clinic locations.

Responsibilities

• Supports UICC Clinic patients under the supervision of a licensed independent practitioner, RN, NM/ANM, or other licensed designee.
• Performs technical, patient care, and related clerical functions in an ambulatory setting.
• May use electronic word/data processing equipment and/or conventional office equipment.

Requirements

• Completion of a recognized one-year Medical Assistant Program, certification, or registration as a Medical Assistant.
• Demonstrated excellent written/verbal communication skills.
• Driver's License and ability to meet UI Fleet Safety Standards.
• Previous Family Medicine experience preferred.
• Strong phlebotomy skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months ambulatory experience.
• Previous immunization experience.
• Previous phlebotomy experience.
• Previous EPIC experience highly desirable.
• Minimum 6 months ambulatory experience.
• Minimum 6 months immunization experience.
• Minimum 6 months phlebotomy experience.
• Previous EPIC experience highly desirable.

• Salary range: $40,903.92 - $60,760.80 (at 100% time)/ Hourly: $19.59 - $29.10 (based on years of experience).

Pay and Schedule

• Coralville Family Medicine Clinic: 90% (36 hours per week), variable hours Monday - Friday between 7:30 am - 5:00 pm, no weekends, on call time, or holidays required.
• 1st Avenue Family Medicine Clinic: 100% (40 hours per week), variable hours Monday - Friday between 7:30 am - 5:30 pm, no on call time, weekends, or holidays required.
• Scott Blvd Clinic: 100% (40 hours per week), variable hours Monday - Thursday between 8:00 am - 8:30 pm and Fridays from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, no on call time, weekends, or holidays required.

Qualifications

• Minimum Eligibility Requirements: Completion of a recognized one-year Medical Assistant Program, certification, or registration as a Medical Assistant.
• Special Qualification/License: Driver's License and ability to meet UI Fleet Safety Standards.
• Highly Desired Requirements: Previous EPIC experience, previous Family Medicine experience, ability to demonstrate teamwork and autonomy in all aspects of the role, strong phlebotomy skills.
• Desirable Qualifications: Previous EPIC experience, minimum 6 months ambulatory experience, previous immunization experience, previous phlebotomy experience.
