About the role
We are seeking PRN Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Registered Nurses (RNs) to provide healthcare services in a correctional detention setting.
Responsibilities
- Administer routine and emergency medical care, including treatment of acute and chronic conditions.
- Perform patient treatments such as blood pressure checks, glucose monitoring, weight assessments, and nebulizer treatments as ordered.
- Administer medications per licensed provider instructions, ensuring documentation and security.
- Carry out nursing care plans, ensuring accuracy and adherence to protocols.
- Conduct initial and ongoing screenings for detainees upon admission.
- Explain procedures and treatment protocols to patients, maintaining safety and security standards.
- Ensure proper documentation and referral processes are followed.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited LPN program; RN candidates preferred but not required.
- Current LPN licensure or ability to obtain it; Basic Life Support certification.
- Ability to obtain security clearance, including background checks and drug screening.
- Correctional nursing experience is a plus.
