Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care for patients’ comfort and well-being, including preparing equipment, triaging patient concerns, and assisting physicians during examinations and treatments.
• Obtain patient vital signs, including pulse, blood pressure, temperature, and respiration.
• Coordinate procedure scheduling and obtain prior authorizations.
• Observe and maintain records on patient care, condition, reaction, and progress through the electronic medical records.

Core Competencies

• Knowledge of nursing, anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology specific to surgery
• Knowledge of equipment, sterilization techniques, and procedures of treatment
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations
• Ability to read charts to ensure lab tests and reports are included for physician review
• Demonstrated ability to perform medical assessments
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Requirements

• Licensed Practical Nurse Certification is required
• At least 1 year of experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse is required
• Surgery clinic experience is preferred
