Licensed Practical Nurse

About the Role

Provides direct patient care to the adult and geriatric patient population under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Utilizes the nursing process while demonstrating behaviors that support McLaren Port Huron’s Values. Functions within a Team setting.

Responsibilities

• Supports the mission and vision of McLaren Port Huron through behaviors that reflect and integrate our values, as evidenced by observation, peer and customer feedback.
• Contributes to the assessment of the patient’s physical and psychological needs and strengths in a comprehensive manner.
• Contributes to the individualized nursing care plan of patients.
• Contributes to the implementation of the patient’s plan of care.
• Contributes to the evaluation of the adult and geriatric patient’s plan of care.
• Contributes to the management and efficient operation of the nursing unit.
• Demonstrates commitment to personal career growth and competency.
• Performs other related duties as required and directed.

Requirements

• Graduate of an approved Practical Nurse program
• Current Michigan license for a Practical Nurse
• NAPNES certification
• BLS and Canadian Equivalent
• CPI – Non-violent crisis intervention

Preferred Qualifications

• One (1) year of experience in mental health

Skills

Nursing skills as defined in the laws governing the practice of licensed practical nursing in the state of Michigan.

• Daily Work Times: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Hours Per Pay Period: 72
• On Call: Yes
• Weekends: Yes
