About the role

This on-call part-time position is a member of and outstanding nursing and direct care staff at the Juneau Pioneer Home and plays a vital role in providing person-centered support in a safe environment for up to forty-nine (49) elder residents.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high quality personal care to assisted living home residents in a warm, supportive, and caring manner.
  • Provide clinical and medication administration to residents and clinical support to the care teams.
  • Focus on quality resident care, the growth, development, and empowerment of health care teams, and the promotion of assisted living philosophy and statutes.

Requirements

  • A diploma or certificate from an accredited school in practical nursing and eligibility for licensure as a practical nurse with the State of Alaska.
  • Physical strength to lift, assist and transfer patients.

  • Medicine and Dentistry: Knowledge of the diagnosis and treatment of injuries, diseases, and deformities, including preventive health-care measures.

  • Physical Strength and Agility: Ability to bend, lift, climb, stand, and walk for long periods of time; ability to perform moderately heavy laboring work.
  • Accountability: Holds self and others accountable for measurable high quality, timely, and cost-effective results. Determines objectives, sets priorities, and delegates work. Accepts responsibility for own actions and decisions. Complies with established control systems and rules.

Additional Required Information

  • Two (2) professional references (including work/supervisor-related) and three (3) character references (personal) with current contact information.
  • Submit to fingerprinting and criminal background check screening.
  • Provide current evidence to be free from active pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) with test results dated within the last 12 months prior to start date.
  • Provide a copy of current CPR and First Aid certificate(s), if available.
  • Provide current evidence of negative results to COVID-19 testing performed within 1 week prior to start date.
  • Submit to regular COVID testing as required by the facility.

Education

To verify education being used to meet the required minimum qualifications, you must fill in the Education section of the application.
