Pay

Starting wage: $40.00/hour. Additional $3.00/hour facility differential for hours worked, plus $1.50 - $2.50 shift differential.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient care in a clinic or hospital setting in a correctional institution
• Administer medications, transcribe and carry out doctor's orders
• Assess patients utilizing protocols, triage, and respond to emergencies
• Assist in moving inmate patients
• Assist with inventory and ordering of supplies and medications

Requirements

• Current license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Nebraska or authority based on the Nurse Licensure Compact to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Nebraska
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. with assistance
• Complete four to eight weeks of on-the-job training
• Submit to a background security check
• Pass a pre-employment medical examination and drug test
• Successfully complete the fully paid NDCS Pre-service Training Program at the Staff Training Academy
