Overview
The Licensed Practical Nurse will focus on providing high level patient-centered care in a physician office setting by measuring and recording vital signs, placing patients in exam rooms, preparing patients for exams/procedures, assisting the health care provider with exams/procedures, providing patient support during exams, maintaining medical supply inventory, and stocking exam rooms.
The LPN will also provide patient care by administering medications, processing patient phone calls per practice protocols, instructing patients regarding health care and treatments, and providing health care provider with information pertaining to patients' health status.
Qualifications
- LPN: Licensed LPN eligible to practice in the State of Florida. One year of ambulatory care or hospital experience preferred. Outstanding patient/customer service skills, verbal clarity, team focus, and problem-solving skills are required for the ideal candidate.
- Medical Assistant: Graduate of an accredited course of study as a Certified or Registered Medical Assistant. Accredited MA certifications include, but are not limited to, AAMA, NHA, NCCT, AMCA, AAMA and AMT. EMT license can be used in lieu of an MA certification. One year of direct patient care experience in an ambulatory care setting is preferred. Initiative, multitasking ability, and proven problem-solving skills are essential.
Licensure/Certification/Registration
- LPN: Current Licensed LPN eligible to practice in the State of Florida. Florida is part of the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) Act. OR must possess and maintain current certification or registration as a Medical Assistant. AHA or Red Cross Basic Life Support (CPR) is required or must be obtained within first 90 days of employment. Must maintain current Basic Life Support (CPR).
- Medical Assistant: Must successfully complete medication test within 30 days of hire.
