About the Role
The Licensed Practical Nurse provides skilled technical nursing care to patients according to predefined standards and a plan of care established by a Nurse Practitioner or Physician. Assumes other duties as assigned. The Licensed Practical Nurse provides care utilizing the MS Nurse Practice Act, the CDC Guidelines for Infection Control, and Singing River Health System Departments of Nursing Plan for Provision of Care, Treatment and Services.
Responsibilities
- Provide skilled technical nursing care to patients based on predefined standards and care plans.
- Perform duties in accordance with Singing River Health System procedures, policies, and accreditation standards.
- Adhere to the MS Nurse Practice Act and CDC Guidelines for Infection Control.
- Complete and maintain required certifications and training, including BCLS certification and de-escalation training.
- Demonstrate appropriate clinical judgment and apply professional skills to a patient population of all ages.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members and maintain professional working relationships.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing program for Licensed Practical Nursing.
- Current State of Mississippi LPN license required; expanded role licensure preferred.
- BCLS certification required upon hire and/or transfer.
- De-escalation training must be completed by the end of position orientation (90 days).
- 6 months of nursing experience preferred.
- Proficient in using computers, MS Outlook, Word, and office technology (e.g., telephone, fax).

Schedule
Shift: 7PM-7AM
Physical Demands
- Moderately active work involving sitting, moving about the office/facility, and traveling within the SRHS service area.
- Frequent requirement to exert negligible force to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects, including the human body.
- Exposure to body fluids, sputum, and tissues, which may carry infectious disease hazards.
- Repetitive motions involving wrists, hands, and fingers (e.g., computer keyboard use).
- Ability to perceive sound at normal speaking levels and make fine discriminations in sound.
- Close visual acuity and ability to adjust focus between computer monitors and printed materials.
- Ability to remain active for extended periods without undue fatigue.
- Must be able to work assigned schedules, including off days, shifts, or weekends as needed.
