Job Summary

As the Pediatric Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you will function as office nurse and help to maintain a smooth operation of the daily routine by performing a variety of clinical duties to allow quality time between patient and physician.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Assists their provider by documenting chief complaint, essential data, i.e., height, weight, blood pressure, head circumference.
  • Maintains an even distribution of patients for the assigned nurse practitioner or pediatrician and keeps the assigned rooms properly supplied of medical, as well as educational material.
  • After consultation with provider, reinforces education and health information with parent/guardian/patient.
  • Answers a variety of medical questions or refers them to the doctor or nurse practitioner when necessary.
  • Secure all exam rooms, lab rooms; restock with supplies on a daily basis.
  • Retrive special orders from Lab and Xray when provider requests.
  • Demonstrate the ability to follow appropriate procedures/production techniques related to the care of patients from newborn - 20 years.
  • Aids Pediatricians and Nurse Practitioners by documenting health related data such as, height, weight, head circumference, blood pressure, urine and chief complaint.
  • Is responsible to provide lead screens and immunizations on well child visits.
  • Maintain updated immunization usage on a monthly basis for State of Connecticut.

Education And Experience Requirements

  • High School Diploma Required - College Course Preferred.
  • Licensed Practical Nurse Degree Required.
  • Current Connecticut Licensure Required.
  • Two years as Licensed Practical Nurse in hospital or office setting required.
